Chlorophytum transvaalense

Chlorophytum species are known to cause a cannabis-like euphoric state for feline species like the African Wildcat, Serval, and Caracal. In the Lowveld, these savanna-dwelling plants provide chemical stimulation via mild compounds that interact with feline opioid receptors. This manifests as obsessive sniffing and face-rubbing against the stiff, tufted leaves, leading to a "spaced-out" trance or playful bursts. Beyond this high, wild felids use the plant's fibrous foliage as a functional survival tool, aiding in the purging of indigestible fur and feathers.
